Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech are the first companies to seek emergency use authorization for their COVID-19 vaccine, believed to be 95% effective. Moderna is expected to follow suit soon. These vaccine candidates may be on the fast track for approval, but there are still hurdles to cross with the Food and Drug Administration. NBC’s Kathy Park reports for Weekend TODAY.
