@HMD Diaz I don't. Obviously you do. What are the exact dollar amounts or in your monetary value amounts of Designing and building a new plane because you obviously know everything about this topic. I am so excited be here you're super educated thoughts about this matter since I'm so stupid and you are obviously so smart. Can't wait to see the final dollar value down to the dime that you obviously know about

For the people that don’t want to fly on the 737. All the other planes you have flown on like 777, 767, airbus etc have all had deadly crashes even worse then the max and yet you have flown on them and have no problem and no doubt that anything will happen. So stop being such a chicken. The FAA approved it.

Scrap them all , if a plane cant fly without a computer to compensate for poor design then its not really a plane people should want to fly in .

For passengers traveling in the time of the 737 Max return, heres how you can tell the difference, search up "737 Next Generation APU exhaust" and you will see a Rounded end, that is NOT the Max. After search up "737 Max APU exhaust" and it will come up with a cone shape like exhaust. If you are not comfortable with flying on the Max I'd strongly recommend you do this. safe travels

Boeing rushed the Max, the 7,8,9, and 10. They were competing against Airbus with their A320 Neo, A321 Neo, and the A330 Neo. Neo means, "New Engine Option". They offer more Fuel Efficiency. Boeing rushed to put new engines on their 737, but they ran into a problem, the 737 by nature sits very low to the ground and Boeing couldn't fit new engines on it because of the sheer size of the engines. so the mounted the engines a lot more forward on the wing pylon and a lot higher than it would on the 737 NG series (-700,-800,-900). This caused the planes nose to be pushed during Takeoff Role with the high amount of Thrust either causing the plane to have a high nose attitude or stalling out. So Boeing created MCAS (Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System) which will push down the nose incase it gets too high. In the case of the Lion Air crash and the Ethiopian crash, it was not faulty speeds or pilot error. There are sensors on a plane called "Attitude sensors" They feed pitch information to the MCAS system and also the Pilot and First Officer PFD. on the day of the Ethiopian crash, the winds were moving the sensors which caused MCAS to think that the plane had a high nose pitch. (Boeing only used one of the two sensors for MCAS) This caused MCAS to push the nose down and override the Pilot input. Pilots can turn this off with a switch near the First Officer Trim Wheel (Search up 737 cockpit, there will be a white and black wheel on both sides of the thrust levers and right under that there will be two switches labeled "pitch trim". In both crashes (Lion and Ethiopian) the pilots managed to turn off MCAS but they weren't quick enough. Lion Air 610 crashed into the Ocean Nose first 13 minutes after takeoff. Ethiopian Airlines 302 crashed 6 minutes after departure. In my personal Opinion I would say the 737 Max series is not safe to fly until they have down more test flights and proved that the Max series is safe the fly. I understand that Boeing needs to keep up with the competition but the fact that they rushed the development and didn't even tell the pilots that "oh hey there's a system on here that could take over at any time". Airbus has this same system on all their aircraft. There was almost a crash with a A330 with Qantas but they fixed it and now there aren't any more incidents with it. They created some of the safest aircraft of all time I.e. Airbus A340, A380, A318, A319. This is for people who aren't really familiar with Aviation and I honestly do think they need to know the full story. If you want to know more about how it happened, I'd recommend you search up the channel "TheFlightChannel" who explains it in great detail in less than 20 minutes. He uses the flight sim Prepar3d from Lockheed Martin and I find it entertaining and very interesting to watch.

There is a fatal design flaw in this plane that cannot be corrected by “software upgrades” and that is the position of the engines on the wings. See the You Tube video The Real Reason Boeing’s New Plane Crashed Twice. My stepfather was an engineer for Pratt Whitney for over 35 years. There is no such thing as “impossible” conditions with computer software. The computers couldn’t correct the problem in the first place and shouldn’t be trusted to correct this Hindenburg of a plane.

This is a design flaw - the engine is lined up with wing which makes it inherently UNSTABLE. Boeing is using software to (try) to counter the natural inclination of the airplane to over-rotate on take-offs. The new pilot training is also going against the natural inclination of what the airplane is trying to do. Ain't doing it - ain't getting on the MAX. Shame on the airlines for not just trading this dud back into Boeing and demanding an airplane that is naturally stable.

@ERAUPRCWA You are a troll, full of BS. The A380 has never had a fatality. Also, there is no design flaw in the A320 avionics (the main fly-by-wire system of the A320 has not been substantially changed or redesigned since introduction and the only incident that has involved the avionics of an A320 in an airshow more than 30 years ago was because the pilot did not know how to operate the system adequately and disabled the wrong system protections - in fact the avionics saved most of the passengers in that demonstration flight by not allowing the plane to stall). Cut the BS and stop defending the sociopaths at Boeing who put their executives' bonuses and shareholders' profits above peoples' safety and lives when building the MAX. People are just not willing to shrug off a corporate ethos and culture that prioritises corporate profits and bonuses over safety, which resulted in unsafe products, accidents and hundreds of deaths of unsuspecting, innocent people who put their trust with Boeing and paid for that misplaced trust with their lives.
cuttight
cuttight 5 օր առաջ
@ERAUPRCWA They don't have to be able to tell the difference. If passengers specifically say they don't want to fly on a MAX, the airline cannot mislead them and book them on a MAX flight, even if the passengers are not able to tell. And everybody knows what happened with this plane now and it's easy to remember the name 'MAX'. So, someone who doesn't want to fly on one, only has to say so when booking. Also, airlines have already said they will disclose what type of aircraft the flight operates during booking and even if people book without realising and only find out at the airport and don't want to get on the flight because of it, they will find them alternative flights without extra charge. Airlines are not stupid. If people don't want to fly on these planes, the planes will be removed from the fleets and alternatives ordered (or life cycles of older generation planes will be extended).

Allow me to explain it in SIMPLETON TERMS.... its a DESIGN FLAW WITH WHERE THE ENGINES ARE PLACED ON THE WING. BOTH BOEING & THE FAA HAVE COMPENSATED FOR THIS FLAW ONCE AGAIN USING A LESS AGGRESSIVE OVERRIDING ALGORITHM IN THE FLIGHT COMMAND SYSTEM THIS TIME AROUND ... BUT THE FLAW IS STILL THERE! This plane is a DEATH TRAP NO MATTER WHAT IS DONE short of replacing both the wings and engines to their original height configuration... mark my word... you wish to fly in it? Great 👍... Jesus Christ saves from sin. Romans 3: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Hebrews 9: 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Isaiah 64: 6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Revelation 21: 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Romans 5: 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. John 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 14: 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Romans 10: 9-10. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Jesus said John 5: 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 1John 5: 10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Ephesians 2: 8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Romans 8: 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5: 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. .............................................................................................................................................................................................................................

@To The Point Ask any reputable airline and they'll tell you they'd rather extend the life cycles of their current jets (and fly 35 year old planes, if need be) than buy anything that comes out of Russia's or China's civil aerospace sector. The idea that the Russian and Chinese built planes will have better quality than western built planes and will boost quality in the industry is laughable and if you put it to anyone in the airline business, it would attract the derision it deserves.

If they don't allow them to fly airlines will start buying aircraft built in China and Russia because the two currant manufacturers, Boeing and Airbus are so far behind on orders that they can't keep up with demand. Personally I think it would be a good idea, and maybe boost quality just like when Japan took market share away from the US automobile industry by selling their products cheaper and yet having better quality and being longer lasting.

If that's your only consideration, I'll give you your answer right now so you don't have to risk it: The A320 neo. It's full fly-by-wire system reacts much faster to compensating for turbulence, etc than the systems in the MAX and it's a lot smoother. Also, Airbus spent a lot more time in Research and Development for the Neo than Boeing for the MAX (which was rushed out the production facility's doors in order to secure orders) and Airbus made sure the A320 Neo is the quietest aircraft in its class and has a comfier, more spacious passenger cabin than the MAX. There you have it. No need to risk your life now.

@ERAUPRCWA The world is not just the US and the aeroplane selling / airline business is a very international affair. The MAX is finished in Europe, large parts of Asia and China. Only severely cash strapped companies, teetering on the edge of bankruptcy will buy it elsewhere (at very steep discounts). It will come to a point that the travelling public will see a MAX and start wondering what else the airline flying it has been trying to cut cost on (maintenance?, pilot training?) Not a good look. I, for one, will actively avoid flying on the MAX even in cases where alternatives may be more expensive than a flight using the MAX. My peace of mind alone, as well as knowing I fly on a product not made by a company run by sociopaths, is worth the (unlikely) inconvenience of checking what planes an airline uses for my chosen flight. 737 has a long safety record since 737 classic that was introduced in 1984. Have flown in bunch of 737s such as -300 (classic) and -800 (new generation) I never doubted the safety of the 737. Unfortunately, the newest version of the aircraft 737 MAX has ruined the long reputation of cheap yet reliable aircraft 737 was known for. Boeing rushing for production and lack of investment in engineering and safety can be one reason why 737 MAX crashed but fundamentally its caused by a misleading corporate culture that developed over time. Concentrating more on the stock market and cost cuttings rather than the product quality. Since the MAX’s second crash, a lot has changed including firing of then CEO Denis Muilenberg and 207 flight tests, software fixes, manual override and additional pilot flight training. The most scrutinized aircraft in history they say. I’m sure the problems are fixed. But what matters is the confidence from both airlines and its customers. It will take longer to get back what was lost and with many airlines already ordering Airbus A320neos instead. MAX may be certified to fly, but the recovery is still far away.
MisterPoPoMan
MisterPoPoMan 3 օր առաջ
@Dieter Zerressen That is the entire reason for Mcas, and there are two sensors known as Attitude sensors on each and every aircraft, boeing has only used one until the new fixes which caused the sensors to feed bad info to the MCAS system, resulting in the two crashes.

Once Boeing and the FAA went to bed together, and once they were both caught with their pants down, they knew they could only get out of this together. That's why I still do not trust either of them; they are still operating as a unit. Who's at the top doesn't matter much; it's the ethos and attitude of the organisation or company that matters. The relationship between Boeing and the FAA had been decades in the making and it's very unlikely it would have been so quick and easy to dismantle and redefine, by just one person. The change at the top of the FAA was more a marketing and public image management exercise, just like the exact same (mostly symbolic) action that happened at Boeing when Dennis Muilenburg was told he was too toxic for the public image of the company and had to step down. I, for one, will actively avoid flying on the MAX, even in cases where alternatives may be more expensive than a flight using the MAX. @Dieter Zerressen reason why Boeing introduced MCAS isn’t for Stall prevention. It has less to do with stall than STS(Speed Trim System) trim that existed since 1984. Mounting CFM LEAP-1B engine surely caused change in aircraft behaviour at high AoA with a tendency to lift but ultimately, MCAS uses the stabilizer to exert similar feel to control column like the 737 NG. MCAS has nothing to do with trim and it is not meant to be a stall prevention. In a auto pilot mode or when flaps are down, MCAS will not be activated. It only functions in a manual flight mode with flaps up and high AoA. The cause of two crashes was MCAS’s lack of redundant system, software issue, and lack of Manuel override. More importantly, the FAA did certify initial version of the MCAS. Boeing had further tested the system was implemented broader operating range of the system even in normal operating conditions. Since MCAS was originally meant to function at extreme conditions, FAA should have re-certified the new version but failed to do so. It was found that MCAS not only didn’t have a redundant input system (single AoA sensor) but also its ability to overpower the elevator and lack of manual override. Not to mention pilots didn’t even know what MCAS was until Boeing revealed it after the Lion air crash.

They couldn't even put an unmanned capsule into orbit due to a software glitch. The plane's design is flawed and not fixable, no matter how many software patches and redundant sensors they install.

The plane’s design isn’t flawed.

There are two sensors on any aircraft known as attitude sensors. They tell the pitch of the aircraft, Boeing only used one of the 2 which is their biggest mistake and ultimately costed them billions of dollars.

what this video dose'nt say is that there is only 3 simulators in the world (cost 15 millions $ each) for 10 hrs trainning thousands of pilots . FAA approved the electronic fixes but they still have to test them in real time flights. So you will not board 737m soon Personally no way i'll take this flying coffin.

@Dieter Zerressen yes. The 737 NG series containing the -700, -800, and the -900 are the safest, along with the 777-300,-200, 787 and the 747-8i. These are all from boeing

@Dieter Zerressen its a catchy phrase, easy to remember. Too bad for Boeing though. But looking at the lives lost at their defective product, it is justified.

I love that! Although the other Boeing planes and the earlier 737's certainly are safe (or safer).

I wanna see the entire board of Boeing and their immediate families take a long flight on that thing before they tell us tbat it's safe for the public.

@To The Point So? Flying is already taking a certain amount of chance. Why in the heck would you add in a known design flaw as another level of chance? ps: Las Vegas is always looking for a gambler like you - go, fly there in a MAX.

Nope I do not care I will never get on that plane ever again. It’s reputation is tarnished forever. Even if it is “fixed”

A little tip for identifying the MAX, Look at the APU exhaust (the very end of the plane usually colored gray) if its a cone shape, then its the max, if its rounded downwards its the 737 NG series which is the safest 737 by far.

@Jelliot Williams No, I'm sorry. The MAX, statistically, is probably one of the most unsafe planes ever at present (by number of hours flown).

@MV D-dub Are you 5 years old, or something? Rhetorical question - please don't answer. As if there are no other options or alternatives than taking a flight on the MAX. I'll take a flight on any of the MAX's better and safer competitors any day of the week.

@SLR107FR31 If Airbus "is having a hard time with the virus economy to catch up back to where they were"[sic], as you say, what makes you think Boeing, a tarnished brand with safety questions hanging over its head that has laid off 30,000 of its staff, has grounded the entire fleet of its flagship cash cow product for nearly two years, has not sold a single one during that time while having to redesign it to the cost of billions of dollars, will have an easier time getting back to were they were before the accidents and pandemic economy? I think your enthusiasm and Boeing fanboying are clouding your judgement and lead you to make irrational arguments.
